Private Surgical Oncology for Canadians Facing a Cancer Diagnosis

A cancer diagnosis arrives with a great deal to absorb and very little control over what happens next. Immediate Surgery gives Canadians a way to take some of that back — connecting you with surgical oncologists and accredited cancer centers across Canada, the USA and Europe, and handling the coordination while you focus on the decision in front of you.

  • EHave your pathology and staging reviewed by a surgical oncologist.
  • EReach specialist centers outside your province, without a referral.
  • EGo beyond the next available surgeon to find the best surgical fit.

our Surgical approach and centers

Canadians don’t need to wait to access cancer surgery.

Biopsy results, staging scans, a surgical consult, then a date. Each step waits on the one before it, and none of them move at the pace you would choose.

Our surgical network gives Canadians more options — accredited cancer centers beyond your own province, where surgical oncologists, pathologists and radiologists review your case together.

  • NHave your pathology and staging reviewed by a surgical oncologist.
  • NReach centers where your cancer type is treated routinely.
  • NStay on your provincial list while you explore other options.

You don’t need to have made any decisions before you speak to us. A surgical review will tell you what your options are, and what each one would involve, before you commit to anything.

Access to specialist cancer centers and multidisciplinary surgical review

The Immediate Surgery Difference

Access to specialist cancer centers and multidisciplinary review.

At a specialist center, the operation you’re offered is the product of a conversation. Surgeons, oncologists, radiologists and pathologists look at the same case together, because the staging drives the surgery, the surgery drives what comes after it, and none of those calls hold up in isolation. That’s the standard we look for, alongside surgeons who work on one cancer rather than cancer generally.

  • NA second read of your original slides, not only your pathology report.
  • NReconstruction discussed before the cancer operation, not after it.
  • NLymph node and margin strategy settled in advance.

You shouldn’t have to be your own coordinator.

A coordinated path to surgery for Canadians

One case manager stays with your case from the first review through to the day you’re back with your own team at home.

Cancer care already involves a lot of people. Our role is to keep them working from the same information, so you’re not the one relaying it between them.

  • NRecords gathered and translated into a single file.
  • NTravel timed around your treatment cycle.
  • NOperative notes and final pathology sent to your team in Canada.

Share Your Case

Send us your diagnosis, symptoms, medical history and any available pathology reports, staging scans or treatment records. We identify the surgical oncologist or sub-specialist best suited to review your case.

Plan of Care

Your case is reviewed in detail so you understand the findings, the recommended procedure and where surgery fits alongside any other treatment. From there, we help establish a clear plan based on your condition, complexity and individual needs.

Complete Coordination

Your dedicated case manager brings the entire plan into motion, coordinating specialist consultations, records, scheduling, surgical facilities, travel and follow-up care.

Common questions about private surgical oncology.

K
L

I'm partway through chemotherapy. Is it too late to arrange surgery elsewhere?

Usually not. Surgery after chemotherapy is planned for a particular window, and that window is what we'd work to. The practical constraint is information rather than timing — the surgeon needs your treatment dates, drug regimen and response so far, which we request from your oncologist directly.

K
L

What if surgery isn't the right answer for my cancer?

Then you'll be told that, and told why. Some cancers respond better to other treatment first, some aren't surgical, and for some the risks of an operation outweigh what it would achieve.

A review that ends in a no is still worth having. You'll know the reasoning, and you can take it back to your own team.

K
L

Will my oncologist in Canada still be involved?

We'd expect them to be. You're not transferring your care to us — you're adding a surgical opinion, and possibly an operation, to a plan they're already running. We ask for their input when arranging timing, and their records go with your case.

K
L

My cancer is advanced. Is surgery still worth considering?

Sometimes, though the purpose may be different. An operation can be aimed at removing disease, or at relieving something it's causing — an obstruction, bleeding, pain. Those are different goals with different trade-offs, and knowing which one is on the table is the first thing to establish. A review will tell you whether either applies.

K
L

Do I need a referral before you'll look at my case?

No. Send your pathology report and most recent scans and we'll take it from there. If a surgeon needs anything else, we'll ask your oncologist for it directly rather than sending you back to arrange it.
