Questions about our private surgery procedures.

K
L

Do I need a referral to arrange private surgery?

No. You can contact us directly. We'll ask for your diagnosis, your symptoms and whatever records you already hold, such as imaging, test results or specialist letters. We then match your case to a surgeon who regularly treats your condition. If your family doctor or specialist is already involved, we're glad to work alongside them and keep them informed.

K
L

My surgical procedure isn't listed here, can you still help?

It depends on the procedure, so share your case anyway. The procedures on this page are the ones patients ask us about most, and we add more regularly. Our network covers most areas of surgery. If we can't identify a surgeon and facility suited to your case, we'll tell you plainly rather than steer you toward an option that isn't the right fit.

Can I have private surgery in my own province?

Sometimes, but often the faster route is elsewhere. Rules differ from province to province and from one procedure to the next. For many patients, the practical options are a private facility in another province, or a specialist center in the USA or Europe, particularly for complex surgery that Canada's private system rarely offers. During your intake consultation, we'll walk through what applies where you live and for your procedure.

K
L

How much does private surgery cost?

There isn't one honest number we can give without knowing your case. The surgeon, the facility, the length of stay and any travel all shape the total, and those depend on your procedure and history. What we can promise is clarity: once your plan of care is in place, you'll see an itemized estimate before you commit.

L

How quickly can things move once I contact you?

Your intake consultation with our team usually happens within one to two days. That first conversation is with us, not a surgeon. It's where we learn your history and what you need. From there, the pace depends on your procedure, the records you already have and whether more tests are needed. We expedite every step we can: getting your case to the right specialist, booking assessments in parallel, and keeping scheduling in one place.

Can I explore private surgery while I'm on a public waitlist?

Yes, and many patients do. Sharing your case and having a specialist review it doesn't require giving up your place in the public system. If you decide to go ahead privately, let your provincial care team know so they can update your file. We'll make sure the records from your private surgery are available to the physicians who continue your care at home.
